Impact Hub Ostrava

for teachers, principals and those interested in the use of technology in education

We invite you to EdTech, which will take place on Wednesday 9 October from 9:00 to 15:00 at Impact Hub Ostrava.

The full-day program will offer a showcase of the latest technologies in education. Experts and innovators from the Czech Republic and abroad will present the use of these trends in education: artificial intelligence, gamification, virtual and augmented reality or personalized learning.

For example, EduBoxes will be demonstrated as tools not only for teaching vocational subjects, containing elements for theoretical and practical teaching with a variety of visualized technologies. EdTech will also offer the opportunity to make valuable contacts with other professionals from the field of education and technology. Networking opportunities will open the door to new collaborations, inspirations and ideas that can greatly enrich your work.

The target group of the conference is teachers, principals and those interested in the use of technology at all levels of the educational process.

Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics, FEECS, VŠB-Technical University Ostrava.

In the last ten years she has worked on many pedagogical projects aimed at secondary school students and teachers (Joy of Mathematics, STEM4you(th), Math4U 1, 2 and 3). She coordinates the development of tests, games and applications for practicing secondary school mathematics.
She will introduce the Math4U portal and especially the Teacher app which allows teachers to create PDF or HTML tests for students and get their results back instantly.

Martin Jurek

Martin Jurek works as a project developer for digitalization programs at the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Centre (MSIC), where he focuses on implementing new technologies into business processes. Since his studies, he has been passionate about non-analogue technologies, with a professional interest in cybersecurity, company digitalization, and artificial intelligence. In addition to his role at MSIC, Martin also works as an R&D specialist at a technical university. In his free time, he runs his own business, developing laser engraving technology, reflecting his passion for technological innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

Jindřiška Karásková is the director of an HR agency and an enthusiastic advocate for human potential development. She specializes in soft skills, helping people enhance their communication, teamwork, and other soft abilities. She is also involved in head-hunting and executive search, connecting talented professionals with key positions in companies. Actively developing the local professional network, she creates opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing. As part of the EduBox project, she contributed to the creation of soft skills tasks for teaching, thereby supporting innovative approaches to education and the integration of practical skills into school curricula.

Jan Meca is the director of the Secondary Industrial School and Business Academy in Bruntál, where he focuses on modernizing educational methods and implementing innovative approaches to both technical and economic education. Under his leadership, the school strives to connect theory with practice and prepare students for the rapidly changing job market. Jan Meca is also the head of the MTA (Moravian-Silesian Technological Academy), an organization dedicated to supporting technical education, developing young talents, and promoting technology fields. His work combines a forward-looking vision with a practical approach to teaching, making Jan Meca a key figure in the field of technical education.

Under his leadership, the school focuses on providing high-quality vocational education and linking theory with practice. Herman emphasizes innovative approaches to education and the modernization of teaching methods, enabling students to prepare for successful careers in technical fields. His main goal is to create an inspiring environment that fosters the development of professional skills and creative thinking in students.

Chris Winter

Head of Education Technology, Coventry University, United Kingdom

As an experienced leader of change across large matrix organisations, Chris is passionate about the role of innovative technology. He has worked in many start-up environments, delivering innovative new product to market for big brands in the educational publishing and higher education sectors, including Heinemann, Macmillan, Oxford University Press, Pearson, the Open University, and now Coventry University.
He now leads Online Business Development activity and the Education Technology and Digital Platform teams who support staff and over 40,000 students globally across the Coventry University Education Group.

Filip Kamák

Filip Kamák

Vysokoškolský student

Filip Kamák is a university student with passion for mathematics. He has been tutoring students for more than five years. This led him to create an internet platform Ucko.eu.
