About MSIC

The purpose of the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as MSIC) is to develop the innovation ecosystem and improve the business environment. We provide services and programs that help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups to grow and innovate. Key elements include quality education, research and development, and collaboration on new technologies, their implementation and introduction into companies.

We support entrepreneurs to create high added value through innovation, sell it worldwide under their own brand , and thereby bring wealth back to the region. Fast-growing companies with the potential to create new jobs inspire other individuals to start their own businesses and thereby change the perception of the Moravian-Silesian Region from a place focused on traditional industry to a globally economically competitive region. We want people in our region to thrive and not leave elsewhere for work and self-realization.

What do we want to achieve?

We aim to increase the number of local entrepreneurs, as well as Companies with high growth potential and aspirations to sell new products and services to the world. MSIC is a catalyst for the creation and development of economic activities. We connect companies with public organizations (especially in the field of science and research), thereby bringing new impulses and forms of cooperation into the ecosystem.

Our role is to provide services that are not spontaneously offered in the region or not offered at the desired quality, affordable price, or under other relevant conditions. We complement the commercial offer and contribute to improving the environment for business and innovation in Ostrava and the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Our journey

In 2017 we emerged from the transformation of the Ostrava Science and Technology Park, a.s. Over the past 5 years we have managed to increase the volume of services provided, the number of positive changes among entrepreneurs, and the overall impact on business in the region. In total, we have implemented over 610 change projects, affecting more than 320 clients based or operating in the Moravian-Silesian Region.

We succeed in discovering companies with high growth potential and added value for the region. We help them enter global markets and increase their growth rate. We connect relevant entities, increase competitiveness, and ambitions of companies throughout the region.

We provide a base for companies with their own research and development. Currently, 84 % of them are in the T-Park, and we aim to maintain their high share in the future. Half of our settled clients also take advantage of the opportunity to collaborate with universities.
