Entrepreneurial Region

The aim of the PODREG project is to increase the number of entrepreneurs in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
  • Higher number of entrepreneurs in the region
  • Greater percentage of workers in research and development
  • Wage growth in our region

PODREG encourages entrepreneurship for all residents across the region, supports interesting projects, and strives to find technological and innovative leaders. To maximize the impact within the region, we have teamed up with other organizations supporting entrepreneurship, created the Start-Up Community, and together we assist startups, emerging entrepreneurs, and small to medium-sized businesses with streamlining their entrepreneurial beginnings.

In the period from 07/2022 to 03/2023, the Z@ict cluster, in cooperation with the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Center Ostrava, a.s., implemented a small project within the Operational Program Interreg V-A Slovak Republic – Czech Republic, titled: Building cross-border capacities for sustainable support of innovative business in the Žilina region, project code SK/FMP/11b/10/016.

Total project costs: 21 780,00 EUR
Contribution from ERDF: 18 513,00 EUR
Funds from the state budget of the Slovak Republic: 2178,00 EUR

The project aims at supporting mutual cooperation in designing a better cross-border ecosystem for supporting innovative business in the Žilina and Moravian-Silesian regions. It facilitated the connection and networking of regional stakeholders with a synergistic effect by utilizing existing and newly created structures, initiatives, and programs, following the quadruple helix model, including active involvement of the startup community and public administration organizations actively supporting innovative entrepreneurship. The project is the foundation for an integrated and sustainable cross-border support for innovative business and development in line with Smart Specialization Strategies (RIS3) and regional innovation strategies.

Project outputs: Building cross-border capacities for sustainable support of innovative business in the Žilina region.
