Beyond Gaming: Unlocking Human Behavior Through Data

Rankacy.cz
Ostrava, Moravskoslezský kraj

What if 1,600 years of recorded human behavior could help us understand the future? Data from 6 million players and their actions inside Counter-Strike 2, creating one of the most detailed datasets on decision-making, interaction, and strategy in a competitive environment. We already use AI models to predict player behavior—but the potential goes far beyond gaming.

We challenge you to explore:

  • How can behavioral data from millions of players inspire new products, services, or insights outside of gaming?
  • In which fields could predictive models of human decision-making create real value—healthcare, sports, urban planning, crisis management, or others?
  • What are the opportunities and risks of using large-scale behavioral data to shape solutions for business and society?
  • How might this data open new ways of understanding patterns, cooperation, competition, and strategy in human life?

This is not about improving gameplay—it’s about using the gaming universe as a window into human behavior. With your perspective, how can billions of in-game decisions translate into innovation in the real world?

The future of behavioral insights is just beginning—what possibilities will you uncover?

Reimagining Post-Mining Landscapes

ZM SERVIS
Třinec, Moravskoslezský kraj

Former mining areas often leave behind scars on the land—but they also offer opportunities for regeneration, creativity, and new life. With a groundbreaking project in thermal recycling of coal sludges, a new industrial activity will emerge. But the bigger question is: what else could these landscapes become for the next generation?

We invite you to explore:

  • How can post-mining areas be redeveloped and revitalized beyond the industrial project?
  • What concepts and use cases from around the world could inspire new cultural, recreational, or ecological functions?
  • How can we activate these spaces so that people actually want to visit, work, and live there?
  • What innovative ideas could transform these areas into symbols of renewal instead of decline?

Your task is to design a visionary yet feasible concept that redefines how post-mining landscapes can serve both industry and society.

Yesterday they were mines, tomorrow they can be anything—what future do you imagine?

From Powder to Possibility: Reinventing Industrial Waste

PROTOLAB
Ostrava, Moravskoslezský kraj

Protolab uses professional industrial 3D printers based on Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) technology—where fine polymer powder is fused layer by layer by a laser beam. In every build, about 50% of the powder is refreshed with new material, while the remaining half—though still of high quality—can no longer be reused for printing.
But what if that “waste” isn’t waste at all?
This material, rich in potential, offers a unique opportunity to rethink sustainability, material design, and circular manufacturing.
We challenge you to explore:

  • How can this high-quality residual polymer powder be repurposed or transformed into new materials, products, or technologies?
  • Could it become a raw material for other additive manufacturing methods, like filament extrusion, or find applications in entirely new industries such as design, construction, or environmental engineering?
  • What innovative processes could give this powder a second life, reducing waste while adding real value to production ecosystems?
  • What role might AI, material science, or circular economy thinking play in reimagining the lifecycle of industrial polymers?

Protolab offers several kilograms of this powder for testing, expert consultations, and SEM microscopy images detailing powder morphology and chemical composition.
This is not just about recycling—it’s about redefining materials and manufacturing for a sustainable future.
With your creativity, how can yesterday’s powder become tomorrow’s innovation?
The future of circular design starts here—what will you create?

From Learners to Creators

SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF KARVINA
Karviná, Moravskoslezský kraj

What if universities became launchpads for ideas, not just institutions for learning?
Imagine a world where students don’t just attend classes—they create, experiment, and take bold steps toward real change. Where curiosity replaces obligation, and learning becomes a journey of discovery, ownership, and impact.
Many students move through higher education passively—checking boxes, completing tasks, earning credits. But what if we could ignite the inner drive that turns knowledge into action? What if every student felt empowered to shape their own future, to test ideas, build projects, and see tangible results in the real world?
We challenge you to explore:

  • How can we design learning experiences that awaken curiosity, creativity, and intrinsic motivation?
  • What new bridges can connect universities with the real world—through entrepreneurship, collaboration, and meaningful impact?
  • How might a vibrant ecosystem of student entrepreneurship look—one that nurtures initiative, resilience, and purpose?
  • How can we rethink education itself as a living laboratory where students learn by doing, failing, and creating value for others?

This is not about improving study habits—it’s about transforming education into an engine of change. About empowering students to become creators, problem-solvers, and leaders of tomorrow.
The future of learning depends on how we inspire and activate students today.

What do past LabZero participants have to say?

"...they are developing several ideas and the ideas are amazing."

I really like the Bootcamp and Reverse Pitching.
It's really inspiring. We've met so many inspiring people who are hard-working and develop several ideas in their spare time and those ideas are amazing. I would never have thought of their solutions.
So that's probably what surprised me. Anyway, thank you so much to MSIC because the organization was perfect, and I would love to be involved again.

"It was a great experience for me because I got..."

It was a great experience for me because I got to be in the company of people who share the same mindset.
And what surprised me, I always thought that if I don't have a business idea, I can't start a business.
But here at Reverze Pitching, we can use other people's (researchers') ideas so we can try to develop a business based on them."
